Gay Marriage
South Africa has recently become only the fifth country, and the first in Africa, to legalize same-sex marriages.

Gay Beaches

• Clifton 3rd Beach: Is where everyone who is anyone goes to tan, just 15 minutes from the city centre. The beach is full of hot gay gym boys with tight designer swimwear and gorgeous bodies.
• Sandy Bay: The only nudist gay beach in the Cape is situated about 18 km from the city centre. The beach is located next to Llanduduno and can be reached by a short walk.

Gay events

• MCQP in Cape Town:It is a Queer Art Party Project, with a new theme chosen each year. The theme guides the creative team, artists, and partygoers, in their conceptualization and creativity. The party is filled with hundreds of people all ages, gender, race and sexuality.
• Pink Loerie Mardi Gras in Knysna:A 4 day Gay Festival, held in May, with non stop entertainment including floats and street parades
• Cape Town Pride:Cape Town Pride is an 11-day festival which hosts a variety of events for everyone such as parties, art exhibitions, sport days, race days, video shows and community tours. Pride hosts its Yearly AGM at Beulah Bar in De Waterkant.
• Johannesburg Pride: South Africa's original Gay & Lesbian Pride celebration has been an annual fixture for Johannesburg for over 16 years. A week of fun, festivities, parties all around a specific theme.
• Out in Africa Film Festival: A gay and Lesbian Film festival held each year in the major cities, covering the latest movies and documentaries from the International circuit.
