Establishment Details - Thornycroft Lodge

Separated from the city by a short drive through unspoilt nature, Thornycroft Lodge is cradled in the heart of Horseshoe Valley, on the banks of the Nahoon River. Our spacious luxury suites open onto tranquil gardens, ensuring a peaceful sleep that will leave you revitalized. Each suite is complete with queen size bed, en-suite bathroom, and separate lounge with DSTV, home entertainment system (500+ DVD library at no charge), coffee/tea facilities and fridge/mini-bar.
Other facilities include thatched bar with pool table, darts and Nintendo WII, open air jacuzzi, sauna, massages, swimming pool, badminton court, winter lounge, mini-cinema, and restaurant with in-house cordon bleu chef.

Directions to Thornycroft Lodge

Take the N2 highway between Umtata and King William's Town. Look out for the Amalinda exit. At the top of the exit,
turn right when coming from Umtata, or left when coming from King William's Town. At the T-Junction (Voortrekker Road), turn left. About 800 m further you will see the sign "Thornycroft Lodge". Turn right into Thornycroft Road, and follow the signs for about 2 km. The road will become gravel, but it is in a good condition. Cross the Nahoon River, and you will find us on the other side.

Unfortunately our stay was way too short, but the staff and owner very friendly and a nice tranquil place to stay, if we are in East London again and need accommodation then Thornycroft will be getting our business!
