Summary:

Restaurant rated as Top 10 in Garden Route and chef chosen as one of Top 10 Young South African Chefs; part of Guest House

Theme:

Ideally situated in the heart of the Garden Route and is an excellent home from which to plan your daily activities. A three day stay is recommended. The ideal base from which to explore all the Garden route area has to offer!

Views:

The Guest House is enveloped by a lush, indigenous sculpted garden. The protected evergreen Outeniqua forests and the water bird sanctuary cradle the house. The misty-morning hanging over the wetlands entice late rising after an evening of relaxation, bonhomie and ubuntu in the restaurant.

Canoeing the rivers and waterways with our complementary canoes, abseiling the cliffs, walking the miles of empty white sand beaches and watching dolphins, whales and rare birds, fishing the river or the sea, mountain biking and even overnight mountain hiking are all within minutes from your home-from-home.

Property Description:

We have four en-suite bedrooms with quality linen, underfloor heating and ceiling fans. Guest Lounge with fire place and library is inviting and softly furnished to pamper. Delectable country breakfasts are served in the breakfast room or outside on the terrace. Security is provided by security gates and parking in the basement.

CUISINE is of the standard you’d expect from an award-winning establishment – among the accolades: this guest house was chosen as a 'Wine Magazine' Top 100 restaurant in South Africa for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Most rewarding is the selection as one of 30 Restaurants by Moët & Chandon / BoE restaurants in South Africa. Lizelle co-owner and resident chef has been chosen by Nomix Gastronomica as TOP CHEF OF THE YEAR 2007 of the Garden Route and Klein Karoo.

DINNER is a sociable five-course gourmet experience around antique family heirlooms, all dressed up in white linen, candles and imported glasses - remember to reserve your table when booking your accommodation! Lizelle, the chef, graduated from Pretoria University and Prue Leith Academy of Food and Wine. The food is a delicious fusion of the best and freshest South African delicacies combined with international spices and condiments and methodologies. Rudolf is the sayer of grace, maitre d', sommelier and wine steward and occasional raconteur. He serves pre-dinner aperitifs on the water's edge, while guests to enjoy the crimson sunset and watch the many water birds visiting the property.
