Establishment Details - Muratie Wine Estate
Muratie Wine Estate is one of the oldest working Wine Estates in South Africa. Experience this unique ambiance. The studio is tucked away under a magnificent oak tree. Stroll through the vineyards or simply sit and watch the sun set over Table Mountain in the distance, whilst enjoying a glass of Muratie wine.
The dimensions of the studio has an interesting story: In the 1930's a friend of Canitz brought a Grand Piano to the Cape Colony by boat. In order to protect the piano they wrapped it in an old carpet. Once the piano arrived in Cape Town the carpet was given to G P Canitz who took it to Muratie and built his studio around the dimensions of the carpet
Directions to Muratie Wine Estate
From Stellenbosch, take the R44 direction Paarl. Approximately 8 km outside Stellenbosch look for the sign Muratie. Turn right into the Knorhoek Road and follow the well marked signs.
