Establishment Details - Mudlark River Front Lodge
Mudlark River Front Lodge is situated on a 22 hectare property, part of the Breede River Conservancy, it nestles on the river bank about 2kms from the tiny village of Infanta.
The situation is unique in that no other habitation can be seen, and the lodge has magnificent views up and down the estuary. The lodge faces north and is protected from the prevailing sea breezes.
The Mudlark River Front Lodge consists of a central timber lodge containing the entertainment and dining areas. There is a lounge with a fireplace and DSTV. Also a relaxing lounge with views over the river, and a small congenial bar which is for guests use only. Outside is a large covered leisure deck.
All the rooms have beautiful panoramic views of the estuary and the surrounding fynbos. The lounge and dining rooms have huge windows allowing for 180 degree vista of our natural surroundings
Our 5 en-suite rooms are thoughtfully decorated all with separate entrances, private decks, en-suite bathrooms, fans and heaters. All the rooms have river views.
The Breede River Estuary is the top estuary fishing destination in the Cape. Sundowner cruises, dinghies hire, and guided fishing are available.
Whale watching, the most Southern Right Whales in South Africa are to be seen in San Sebastian Bay, they start arriving in June and stay until October.
Beautiful swimming beaches are a stroll away, there are wonderful walks along the river bank and in the surrounding fynbos.
There is excellent bird watching with 203 species on our list.
De Hoop Nature Reserve a world heritage site is our neighbor.

Directions to Mudlark River Front Lodge
From Cape Town International airport follow N2 through Somerset west, Caledon, Riviersonderend. 5 kms before Swellendam turn right at Malgas Infanta sign board, follow the road (gravel) for 64km turn left at the mudlark sign.
