Life on 3rd guesthouse in Melville boasts 14 rooms and can accommodate almost any need, whether it be single travelers, couples, families or groups alike. The wooden decked courtyard with casual outdoor seating offer guests the opportunity to soak up the African sun whilst enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. After a long day of business or sight seeing put your feet up and relax in the lounge, separate to the main house, it is also the ideal venue for informal meetings, workshops and functions.
Life on 3rd is in close proximity to the famous 7th Street with restaurants, galleries, shops and a vibrant nightlife as well as Main Road, which has numerous fast food outlets, restaurants, shops, gyms and banks. Campus Square Shopping Center, SABC, Media 24, AFDA Film School, Wits and the University of Johannesburg are within a 5kms from where we are located.
Accommodation includes a Continental Breakfast, which is served daily from 7.00am – 9.00am in our communal dining room. Breakfast includes a selection of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, breadbasket, selection of cheeses, bacon & eggs, preserves, fruit juice and coffee & tea. Dinner and refreshments are available on request (6 people or more) from our set menu. Complimentary coffee & tea is available 24hrs in the dinning room.
Directions to Life on 3rd
From OR Tambo International Airport take the R24 Johannesburg West. At the Gilloolys interchange take the N12 Germiston Road which continues and becomes the N3 Eastern Bypass. Continue with N3 south and keep left when you reach the Germiston/Durban/Johannesburg at the Geldenhuis Interchange. Take the M2 Johannesburg West (Rooderpoort). Continue for some distance as you pass the city, keep to the left and take the M1 Sandton/ Pretoria road onto the M1 North (De Villiers Graaf Motorway). Continue on the M1 and take the Empire Road turnoff, keep left to get onto Empire Road.
