Karoo View Cottages offer you luxurious self-catering accommodation in modern Karoo style cottages, with lots of extras, attention to detail, as your comfort is our priority.
Choose from our Kanon, Ferox, Krans or Striata Suites, each measuring 72sqm, with beautiful double volume natural reed ceilings, large window views, and individually decorated to compliment your surroundings.
All suites offer the following:
* Various bed sizes from which to choose; double, queen, king, twin extra length and extra length singles available
* Crisp, white 200 thread count poly cotton percale linen and loads of pillows
* All weather duvet inners, oversized and anti-allergenic, encased in 100% cotton percale
* 100% Cotton cellular blankets and bed throws, and electric blankets with individual controls
* Airy mosquito nets ensure you of a peaceful night sleep - Mozzie sprays and coils provided
* Remote controlled Hot/Cold Air conditioners enable ambient temperatures
* Large Karoo fireplaces – with complimentary firewood and firelighters
* Vanity area with good lighting, mirrors, hairdryer and lots of hanging space and extra coat hangers
* Electronic safe, flat screen TV as well as use of DVD player on request
* Lounge and dining areas with cosy, comfortable, ample seating

* Full self-catering inventory including crockery, plus lots of extras
* Salt, pepper, spray n cook, serviettes and paper supplied for your convenience

* Two suites have a dishwasher
Each suite has its own private Karoo Stoep, on which to sit and enjoy your unique and magnificent view,
offering you your choice of relaxation.
Direct access to the natural indigenous gardens, leading you to the stone boma, complete with stone fireplace, braai facilities, including all braai utensils and firewood, cuddle puddle, umbrellas and pool lounger, from which you can laze away the glorious Karoo day.
Each suite has its own private entrance on separate sides of each cottage, and own covered, sheltered, secure and off street parking.
Extra parking is also available for your trailer, boat or caravan with overnight plug-in facilities.
Our KANON Suite is tastefully decorated in cool shades of white with beautiful double volume natural high reed ceilings and offers you a luxurious double bed. The fully tiled en-suite bathroom, with his and her vanities and bath with overhead shower completes this picture.
Our FEROX Suite echoes the natural beauty of the Karoo. Decorated in the natural desert shades which are complimented by the beautiful double volume natural high reed ceilings and offers you a luxurious queen bed. An en-suite fully tiled large bathroom with over size shower, complete with designer seat, grab rails and 2nd shower completes this picture.
Our KRANS Suite is tastefully decorated in sunset tones which are offset by the beautiful double volume natural high reed ceilings and offers you a luxurious king bed. The fully tiled en-suite bathroom, with his and her vanities and bath with overhead shower completes this picture.
Our STRIATA Suite echoes the boldness of the Karoo with touches of lime green which reflect the natural flora of our gardens. Adding to the luxury are the beautiful natural high reed ceilings and offers you 2 luxurious single extra length beds as well as a comfortable standard double bed sleeper couch. An en-suite fully tiled large bathroom with over size shower, complete with grab rails and 2nd shower completes this picture.
Directions to Karoo View Cottages
Karoo View Cottages are situated in the quaint Karoo village of Prince Albert in the Western Cape, which is located at the foot of the Swartberg, which forms the gateway between the Great Karoo and the Klein Karoo.
From the N1 - for the less adventurous who want a more direct route or stop over:
• 476 km South of Colesburg
• 180 km South of Beaufort West
• 125km South of the Karoo National Park
• 45 km off the N1 from Prince Albert Road
• 155 km North of Matjiesfontein
• 400 km North of Cape Town via the N1 and the Hex River Valley
All roads are tarred, in good condition with spectacular views of the Karoo veld and mountains.
From the East Coast - perfect for the more adventurous who wish to explore poorts and mountain passes:
* 400 km from Port Elizabeth
• 332 km from Barrydale and 162 km from Calitzdorp along Route 62
• 245 km from Knysna via George / Oudtshoorn
• 185 km from Mossel Bay via Robinson Pass
• 175 km from George via Oudtshoorn / Meiringspoort
• 115 km from Oudtshoorn via N12 / Meiringspoort
• 67 km from Oudtshoorn via the Swartberg Pass
• 45 km from the Cango Caves via the Swartberg Pass
• 77 km from De Rust via Meiringspoort
• 55 km from Meiringspoort and Klaarstroom
• 157 km from Uniondale and the entrance to the Langkloof valley
• 148 km from Willomore and the entrance to the famous Baviaanskloof via Klaarstroom and the Prince Albert Valley.
All roads are tarred, with the exception of the Swartberg Pass, which is in good condition, unless it has been snowing. (There will be notices to advise you on either side of the mountain advising if the pass is closed.) NB: No caravans allowed over the Pass.
Karoo View Cottages are located towards the Northern end of the Prince Albert village, 350m off the main street, overlooking the village.
Directions to Karoo View Cottages - Magrieta Prinsloo Road, Prince Albert:
1. Travelling from the N! – North side:
Drive past the OK and Home Hardward both on the left hand side and as you near the Prickly Pear also on the left you will be coming up to an intersection – look for the road named Magrieta Prinsloo Road on your right – another small landmark – Catholic Chapel sign – take this turn and drive up to the stop street – 100m – continue up the road, and go past the property with large statues on your right and then you will see our sign Karoo View Cottages also on the Right.

2. Travelling from the Swartberg Pass / Meiringspoort - South side:
Continue down the main street – Kerk Straat / Church Street and drive through the village and keep a look out for the Police Station on your left – our road Magrieta Prinsloo Road is the very next turn to the Left. Continue up to stop street – 100m – cotinue up the road, and go past the property with large statues on your right and then you will see our sign Karoo Viewe Cottages also on the Right.
Drive up our driveway and park in the undercover sheltered parking near our Reception, where we will welcome you.
