This guest house is well equipped to cater for every traveller's needs, and has been adapted to provide maximum ease and comfort for any disabled visitors. It offers superb accommodation, furnished in tasteful contemporary African style, and boasts a peaceful indigenous garden, with mountain views. Your hosts, David and Amanda Shackley, will warmly welcome you to their beautiful home in Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa. Swellendam is full of surprises and secrets. Very close to Impangele is a marvellous dam where you can enjoy the view, swim, have a picnic, drink a sun-downer. The secret path to this place will be revealed to guests at Impangele!

Establishment Details - Impangele
A beautiful old house close to the edge of the Marloth Mountain Reserve, Impangele has been lovingly restored to retain many original features, but ensuring contemporary style and comfort. The incredible attention to detail demonstrates how much David and Amanda care about ensuring that every guest's experience is memorable. There are three luxury en-suite bedrooms, the Leopard Room, the Zebra Room, and the Giraffe Room. There is also a self-catering garden cottage, which is ideal for families or groups of friends, as it sleeps up to six people. Impangele's famous breakfast is available as an optional extra for those staying in the cottage. Pets are welcome with prior notice.

From Cape Town:

N2. Enter Swellendam at sign Swellendam West (Left). At the stop sign turn right, into Voortrek Street towards the town centre.

N1 Via Worcester and Robertson. After Ashton turn right (R60) towards Swellendam. Turn left at the stop sign onto Voortrek Street towards the town centre..

BOTH ROUTES

After the Swellengrebel Hotel, take the second turn to the left, which is Andrew Whyte Street. (opposite the OK Grocers). It has many signposts, including Marloth Nature Reserve. Impangele is 530 m on the right hand side.

From George

West on the N2 from Riversdale.

Turn right at 1st Swellendam turning (Signposted Swellendam East) ,& opposite the turning to Bontebok park.)
Continue into Swellendam along the main street, Swellengrebel Street past the Drosdy museum, the road bends round to the left and becomes Voortrek Street.
Carry straight on through 2 stop signs. You will see ABSA bank on the right.
Take the next right which is Andrew Whyte Street. It has many signposts, including Marloth Nature Reserve We are 530m on the right

From Joburg
Take the N1 or N12 through to Beaufort West. Then take the N12 to Oudsthoorn then the R62 to Barrydale.

Just after Barrydale turn left through the Tradouw Pass and Suurbraak which leads to the N2. Turn right (towards Cape Town) and after about 10km take the turn right into Swellendam (signposted)
Continue on through the centre of town and you will see an Absa Bank take the next right opposite the OK Grocers (Andrew Whyte Street) and Impangele is 530 metres on the right
Unit Information - Impangele
Garden Cottage,  3 bedrooms, sleeps 6
Overview The cottage is fully equipped. The kitchen has a fridge freezer, microwave, cooker, and plenty of crockery and cutlery. All linen and towels are provided. There is a bathroom, with bath and overhead shower, and separate loo. In the living area, there is TV, a Playstation, CD player and games. The cottage has its own deck and access to braai area, and wood is provided free of charge. Breakfast is available in the main house as an optional extra.
Bed configuration The cottage main bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has twin beds. There are two sleeper couches (one small double and a single, suitable for children/adults in the living area.
The Giraffe Room,  1 bedroom, sleeps 2
Overview This delightful sunny room overlooks the indigenous front garden. It has an en-suite bathroom which has a bath with overhead shower. It has TV, a DVD player and a selection of films, free wi-fi access, heater, fan, complimentary toiletries and a hostess tray packed with goodies.
Bed configuration Twin beds, though a double can be organised on request.
The Leopard Room,  1 bedroom, sleeps 3
Overview A huge room, decorated in contemporary African style, this room is welcoming and deeply comfortable. There is TV, wireless Internet access, a hostess tray with home bakes and a selection of teas and coffees, bathrobes, slippers and even eyes shades - all in Leopard style!
Bed configuration There is a King size double and room for two extra single beds on request.
The Zebra Room,  1 bedroom, sleeps 2
Overview This gorgeous room has been made as comfortable as possible for all guests, and the needs of wheelchairs users have been carefully considered. A spacious room with en-suite wet-room facilities, TV, access to wireless Internet, and a hostess tray with all sorts of goodies.
Bed configuration A king size bed, with room for an extra single bed if required.
