Summary:

Houtkapperspoort provides 26 fashionably rustic and elegant cottages and a luxury manor house on the back slopes of Table Mountain only 18 minutes from the centre of Cape Town. Facilities include a tennis court, play area for children, swimming pool, laundry service, 24 hour security control and magnificent mountain paths.

Most have air-conditioning for summer and some have fireplaces for winter. The one and two bedroom cottages are single or double storey and have either one or two bathrooms per unit. The three bedroom cottages have two or three bathrooms and all four bedrooms in the manor house have en-suite bathrooms. The resort offers all the usual facilities including a tennis court and swimming pool, Wi-Fi internet at reception, liquor licence, and 24-hour security control.

The cottages are four star graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, yet the tariff offers remarkable value for money and exceptional exclusivity (book very early for peak season!).

Directions to Houtkapperspoort

Directions from Airport

On exiting the airport grounds, follow the Cape Town signs. Drive over the bridge and immediately turn right towards and onto the freeway (N2) which will take you towards Cape Town.

Closer to Cape Town the road will start turning towards Table Mountain. You will drive over a bridge (the M5). Make sure you are in the left lane. You will drive underneath two bridges that are close to each other, and when you pass underneath the third bridge, the road will split. To the right is Cape Town. You need to turn to the left (M3 Muizenberg turnoff). Now you will be on De Waal Drive which will become Rhodes Drive. The University of Cape Town will be on your right, the Rhodes Memorial a bit further on your right as well. Soon after, go over to the right hand lane. At the first set of traffic lights, turn to you your right (Hout Bay/Kirstenbosch turnoff).
Drive past Kirstenbosch (on your right), and at the T-junction turn right again. Go uphill (there is a pedestrian crossing at the top on the turn – be careful), and then downhill through all the turns past Cecelia Forest (on your right) until you get to the traffic circle at Constantia Nek.

Go round the circle (avoid the first exit), and go downhill towards Hout Bay. Houtkapperspoort is about 200m down the road, the first entrance on your right (follow the wooden fence).

As you enter the premises, please stop at the security boom and they will direct you to the office during office hours, or to your cottage if it is after office hours. Please note that the speed limit is 10kmh on the property.

Overview	STRELITZIA COTTAGE: Free standing, single level, self catering cottage set slightly apart from the other cottages. The resort flagship offers four en-suite bedrooms. Two bedrooms each have a queen size bed, air-conditioning, bathroom with bath, shower, wash basin and toilet. The other two bedrooms each have a queen size bed, air-conditioning, bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet, one of which has facilities for disabled persons. Features include a spacious granite kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and scullery. The dining room is separate with access to the patio, and the spacious lounge which is set on a lower level, has a ramp for easy access by disabled people. The lounge has a fireplace, under floor heating, TV with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet) and DVD player. Barbecue facilities are on the patio, which can be accessed either from the lounge, the dining room or from the kitchen. Ample parking is provided next to the cottage. This cottage is situated on the north side of the property below Table Mountain, and has magnificent views down the valley towards the Sentinel peak in Hout Bay, the vineyards, Twelve Apostles Mountains in the west and Constantiaberg to the south.
