Summary:
Devonair, a boutique wine estate that offers luxurious accommodation, is situated at the top of Devon Valley to the west of Stellenbosch, South Africa. The owners, Leon & Rina de Wit, have converted Devonair into one of the most prestigious boutique wine estates in the region.
Theme:
The grapes for this exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon are harvested from a registered single vineyard. The vineyard of 3 hectares is situated on the steep north westerly slope of the Bottelary Mountain above Stellenbosch. Maturation in small French oak barrels for 12 months renders limited quantities of a unique, hand-crafted wine. After receiving a double gold Veritas award and a 4 star Platter rating for its 2000 vintage, wine production stopped for a few years. The new owners decided to continue the tradition of wine making and the maiden Devonair “The CAB” 2005 vintage, a single vineyard wine, is expected to be released in 2006.

Nestled amongst the vineyards of the Devonair Estate is The Cottage, a perfect retreat affectionately known as Casa Erika. This 4 Star rated cottage bodes an open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining area, double bedroom and full bathroom. 2 Adults and 2 children may be hosted. Start the day with a continental breakfast whenever you feel like it or prepare your own meal in the modern kitchen. Enjoy dinner at one of the many prestigious restaurants in the area.

Directions from Cape Town : Follow the N1 to Paarl. Take the Stellenbosch/Klipheuwel turn-off. Turn right towards Stellenbosch. At the first traffic light, turn right (Bottelary Road). Turn left after 1 km at Devon Vale turn-off. Follow the road up the hill for 2 km. You'll find Devonair on your left hand side.
Directions from Stellenbosch : Take the R304 from Stellenbosch past Kaymandi towards the N1. After 8 km, turn left at the traffic light (Bottelary Road). Turn left after 1 km at Devon Vale turn-off. Follow the road up the hill for 2 km. You'll find Devonair on your left hand side.
