Summary:
The philosophy and vision of a real travellers’ village was first realised in DeWaterkant. The initial cottages called Harbour View Cottages, Cape Town’s First Guest Street, has now become a village and has grown to over 80 participating properties.
Theme:
The village with its warm charm and character will make you feel right at home. All properties are within walking distance to the newly built Cape Quarter shopping centre, the city, restaurants, bars and fashionable nightspots.

Lounge around at the side walk cafe's sipping cocktails or enjoy a light meal whilst watching this trendy village come alive.
De Waterkant is made up of quaint, cobbled streets lined with colourful historic cottages.

Secure parking can be arranged at Cape Quarter, across the way from The Charles at a competitive rate. There is also off street parking available all over De Waterkant Village and as the area is small, you can easily walk everywhere.
The lounge area at 1 Loader Street is equipped with a computer station where guests can make use of internet facilities.

Directions
Arriving from Cape Town International Airport
Exit Airport Direction N2 Cape Town, and as you approach the city, follow the N2 CITY, FORESHORE, SEA POINT signage.
Follow N2 Stad/City signs for 22km¹s until you arrive at the Coen Steytler Avenue traffic lights. The Cape Town International Convention Centre is on your left hand side and the V&A Waterfront on your right hand side. Proceed straight over the intersection.
Cross over two more intersections and at the third traffic light, Strand Street, turn right.
Almost immediately, the roads makes a 90 degree turn to the left. 1 Loader is on the corner, on your left hand side.
