This is a wonderful place to simply relax, laze under a tree with a book, enjoy a refreshing swim after a walk in the mountains, or listen to the many birds in the garden.
The summer days are hot and sunny with comfortable evenings. The winter days are warm with clear blue, cloudless skies and slightly cooler evenings with star-filled skies. Picnic baskets are available on request for picnics in the mountain

Delicious breakfasts are served on the patio overlooking the park-like garden and pool area with spectacular mountain views. Full English or continental breakfasts are available, both with tea, coffee, fruit juices, home-made jams, etc.
Property Description:
Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast is in the heart of the Central Drakensberg mountains, in the shadow of the mighty Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle, two of the highest peaks in South Africa.
Tastefully decorated en-suite double and twin rooms with private entrances from the lovely garden, are fully equipped with towels, toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, fridges, and are serviced daily. Heaters / fans are provided in each room and some TV's are available if requested when booking.

Directions

The Central Drakensberg is easily accessible from the N3 motorway (the major route between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal). Cathkin Cottage is at the entrance to a small private village with 24 hour security and is easily reached on all tar roads. The Central Drakensberg is approximately 2 hours from Durban and 3½ hours from Johannesburg. The view driving into the Drakensberg mountains towards Cathkin Cottage is truly breath-taking.
