With its own natural island and being a registered bird sanctuary the views offered at Carryblaire are breathtaking and some of the most beautiful in Africa.

The Yellowfish that leap through the water are considered to rival Trout in their ability to entice fishermen in a challenge of wits, while the calls of the nesting Fish Eagles remind us of their superiority in the air.

Directions to Carryblaire River Retreat

Take N1 to Bloemfontein, continue through Grasmere toll plaza.
Approximately 800m before the Kroonvaal toll plaza take the Parys / Sasolburg turnoff - R59
Turn right towards Parys.
Approximately 800m turn right towards Barrage, then first left onto S280 Dirt Road.
Travel straight for approximately 7Km on dirt until you reach T- Junction.
Turn right onto S171. Approximately 1 Km turn first left onto S1052.
Follow this road for Approximately 3 Km through bends. Careful the road is not great here.
At 3km mark follow the S1052 bend left and then right.
Approximately another 3 Km, Carryblaire River Retreat entrance on your right.
Distance from JHB central approximately 120 Km. Approx 1 hour 15 min drive.

Overview	All our bedrooms are decoratively inspired by elements from African nature. They have thatched roofs and mosquito nets and are scattered with antique pieces collected from Parys... All rooms have tea & coffee facilities and fridges and are fitted with fans and for the winter months with electric heaters and electric blankets... All have full en-suite bathrooms... Catering is included in our rates with options of dinner and breakfast or just breakfast included. Meals consist of healthy and wholesome farm style cooking, served in the dining room at the main lodge with stunning views overlooking the river. We serve a set menu 3 course dinner in the evenings (please let us have any dietary requirements) and for breakfast a full English accompanied with cereals, yogurt, fruit, juice and tea/coffee.
