High on the mountain above the port of Hout Bay, quiet and peaceful Cap Serein is a world away from the nearby Cape Town city centre. Recently restored in the style of Provence, the guest house offers three attractive rooms, each decorated in its own unique style.
Your hosts Kurt and Petra have both run restaurants
in their time, and Kurt is a certified Master Chef. So you can
expect superb breakfasts, with plenty of
home-baked goodies.
Kurt’s optional three-course evening menus will delight you.
You might find yourself sitting down to local Cape
cuisine, seafood fresh from Hout Bay Harbour or perhaps
something quintessentially French. Traditional South African
cookouts such as a braai or potjie can also be enjoyed in
Cap Serein’s African Boma.
If you’ve come to Cape Town to relax, Cap Serein is the
answer. The shady garden has plenty of corners where
you can lose yourself in a book and have only the owls for
company. There’s also a stunning pool terrace with views of
the ocean and renowned Chapman’s Peak Drive.

Perched on the mountainside of Hout Bay, overlooking the mountains and ocean, you can enjoy the stylish and spacious bedrooms featuring private verandas, DSTV, fireplaces, mini bars and tasteful finishes. You can also enjoy a superb breakfast from a wide variety of foods or treat yourself to one of Master Chef Kurt’s dinner for that special evening. Directions to Cap Serein Guest House
Cap Serein is located high above beautiful Hout Bay, which is a central yet tranquil Cape Town location. The city centre is just 20 minutes away, while the glamour beaches around Camps Bay and the vineyards of Constantia are even closer. Cap Serein is also little more than half an hour from Cape Town International Airport. The guest house can arrange airport transfers upon request.
Cap Serein can be accessed via the M3 highway, Rhodes Drive and Hout Bay Main Road; via Constantia Nek and Hout Bay Main Road or via Camps Bay, Victoria Road and Hout Bay Main Road. You can also reach it from the world-famous Chapman’s Peak Drive.
