Property Description:

The accommodation comprises of 2 self-catering cottages and a 1 B&B breakfast thatched cottage. The cottages are fully equipped with all the modern furnishings one can think of. Each of the self-catering cottages can accommodate 8 guests in each and the B&B cottage only 2 guests. Activities on the property includes hiking, horse riding (night riding), fishing, four-wheel drive routes, mountain bike trails, bird watching, paraglide and hangglide take off site, river swim, tube and canoe, night drives with spot light or enjoy the lavender experience.

From Durban:
Approximately 3 hours travelling in total, follow the N3 passed the Estcourt Ultra City, turn left after approximately 8kms, onto the R74, continue through Winterton and Bergville, continue on this road for approximately 28kms, turn left at the Northern Berg turn off, continue for 3.2kms, turn off to the right, continue until you get to reception.

From Johannesberg:
Approximately 3 hours travelling in total, follow the N3 to Harrismith, turn off onto the N5, continue for approximately 5kms, turn off left onto the R712 (Bergville), continue for approximately 8kms , turn left onto the R74, continue down the pass, turn right at the R304 Northern Drakensberg junction, continue for 3.2kms, turn off to the right, continue until you get to the reception.

Thamela Cottage - Self-catering, 4 bedrooms, sleeps 9

Overview	This is a comfortable, rustic, stone and thatch dwelling. The cottage sleeps 9 people. It consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and toilets and all linen is provided, including cutlery and crockery. There is an open plan lounge and kitchen area, with an oven, stove and fridges. There is also a log fire place, and a braai/barbeque facility with patio furniture.

Overview	Comfortable 4 bedroom thatch cottage, 2 bathrooms (showers), fully equipped kitchen, log fireplace in an open plan lounge and kitchen. Situated high up on the side of a hill, this elevated position offers spectacular views of the entire Central, Northern and Little Drakensberg. Braai/barbeque facility outside off the patio.

Overview	This is a comfortable thatch cottage with both rooms en-suite, bath off the main bedroom and shower in the second room. This is a very private unit. There is a kitchenette, fridge, kettle, microwave etc fully equipped and condiments are provided for B&B and B&B guests. Dinner is available on request. There is also a logfire place fireplace, wood is provided and sold per bundle.

Our stay at Berg House Cottages was great. The cottage was lovely and cosy,
although we found the set up of having to walk through the main bedroom into
the kitchen a bit cumbersome. The setting is beautiful and it was lovely and
peaceful with a wonderful view of the mountains. I loved the old fashioned
rustic set up of the kitchen/lounge.

I can recommend and my overall review rating is [4 ] out of 5 (simply
because of the ergonomic lay out of the cottage. There was also no couch
where one could "slouch" in front of the fire, although we found it very
pleasant sitting at the kitchen table playing Scrabble.

It was one of the most splendid break aways that we ever had...even our 2 teenage boys can't wait for the next opportunity to go there again.
Remember good walking shoes if you want to move around on the farm... whitch we think is an absolute must. It is such a beautiful area
