George airport is a 30 minute scenic drive away and Amzee Bokmakierie is a perfect home base from where the numerous attractions of the Garden Route, the Rivera of South Africa can be explored.
The Pinnacle Point casino is around the corner from Bokmakierie and Dana Bay offers two lovely beaches with braai facilities.
A few days stay in the world's most mildest climate, graded second to Hawaii, will enable guests to cover most of the attractions and adventures offered. The Oyster Catcher Trail
The Oystercatcher Trail is a portered, guided trail starting at the Cape St Blaze Headland above the Khoi Caves in Mossel Bay . This fully catered Trail, of 48 km, meanders along beautiful cliffs, bays, caves, dunes and beaches. The first day, a spectacular 14 km, follows the St Blaze Trail which ends in Dana Bay . (The St Blaze Trail is a wonderful one day trail for the time-limited hiker). Sightings of whales are guaranteed during June to November and throughout the year you will see dolphins frolicking in the surf, and along the shore you will find a huge variety of fynbos and indigenous foliage.
You need only carry a pack with daily supplies and your lunch pack, which is provided for you.
The African Black Oystercatcher is one of seven species worldwide, eating mussels, limpets and crustaceans. There are only 5,000 of these birds left while the Trail area holds just over 100.
Besides the Oystercatcher there are many other seabirds to see along the Trail, like falcons, gray plovers and fish eagles. A warm welcome awaits you at the end of the first day of the Trail, at Amzee Bokmakierie Guest House. Enjoy a traditional South African dinner while listening to Alex Swanepoel and his concerns about the African Black Oystercatcher.
The second day takes you to Boggoms Bay where a feast on mussels and traditional cuisine awaits you and overnight in the famous Springer Cottages with Fred Orban as your host.
The third day takes you around Fransmanshoek with breakfast on the way and a fantastic evening at Kanon. The last day you end up with a short walk from Kanon, a Riverboat ride on the Gouritz River and a champagne brunch.
At the end of the Trail you will have discovered how important man's contribution is in the conservation of our fragile environment. This is not just a walk……it is a love affair with nature.

Directions
From Cape town follow the N2 towards Mossel bay. After the Engen Fueling station turn right at the first traffic light towards DANA BAY. At the fourway stop at Caltex, turn left with Malva and go on until you reach Nerina Road. Turn right with Nerina and go on for 800 m until you reach Bokmakierie
From George follow the N2 towards Cape Town. Turn left at the SECOND Mossel Bay turn off after the CASINO indicator. At the T junction turn left towards Mossel Bay. At the traffic light turn right towards
