Establishment Details
Summary:
This makes our guest lodge very well located for both the business person and the tourist who wants the tranquility of the country and easy access to Sandton, Johannesburg, Woodmead, Midrand, Bryanston, Rivonia, Fourways, Sunninghill, Linbro Park and Pretoria.
Theme:
Your hosts, Yvonne and Gerard van Schendel invite you to share their little African paradise. Yvonne and Gerard came from Holland to live in South Africa in 1996 and are therefore well aware of European standards and hospitality. The theme throughout is African with murals abound.
Views:
The safe property (with electric fence) is set on 4.000 m2 indigenous gardens, overlooking a sparkling pool, surrounded by an abundance of bird life. The whole atmosphere at African Lodge is heartfelt, friendly and highly luxurious. Awake to the calls of the birds and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in our dining room with double opening doors overlooking the garden, the pool and the fish-pond. Stroll in the gardens and enjoy the fresh air and peace of the country, whilst only ten minutes away from Sandton, South Africa’s premier business and entertainment centre, as well as Sandton City shopping centre. Return from a busy day in the city and relax over a cold drink at our bar, with the tinkling sound of the water from the fish-pond in the background.
Property Description:
All five luxurious twin rooms and our two executive suites are also stylishly decorated with the Big Five Theme. (See room overviews for more details.)
In our entertainment area you can enjoy DSTV (Satellite TV), home theatre, vcr, or just enjoy a drink at our well stocked bar; run as a honesty bar, you can be the barman and enjoy a tot or two of your favourite tipple. A good selection of books, videos and DVD’s are also available.
Meals (lunch and dinner) are served on request only (we do not run a commercial restaurant). Enjoy dinner, a braai (South African Barbeque) or Chinese braai in our boma at the crackling campfire, whilst listening to the night sounds of Africa and gazing up into the star-strewn skies. Dinner can also be served in our elegant dining room. Alternatively transport to restaurants in the area can be arranged too.
